Sabre
The tournament is dedicated to late-19 century fencing, and the weapons should correspond to the historical examples. Тhe sabre should have a bell guard or multi-branch guard and moderately curved or straight blade. Other configurations may not be allowed, in case of doubts contact us.
- Steel blade
- Full length up to 100 cm (in a straight line)
- Weight: 750-1000 gr
- Point of balance: 7-12 cm from the guard
- Reasonably flexible blade, without residual bend
- Recommended loop point; other types of point blunt should be additionally protected with duct tape, rubber or leather overlay
- The blade and guard should not have nicks, notches, barbs or other elements dangerous to the opponent or the gear.
Sword & buckler
Buckler - round, up to 35 cm in diameter. Material: wood/plastic.
Sword: arming sword or sidesword; straight blade, simple crossguard or branched guard (no bell/ cup hilts).
- Length up to 110 cm for sideswords; up to 100 cm for arming swords.
- Weight 900-1200 grams
- Rolled, thick or spatulated tip
- Blade flex 4-9 kg
Mandatory protective equipment
Every fighter must use the following equipment
- Fencing mask, certified at Level 1 (350N) at least
- Mask overlay protecting the top of the mask and the back of the head and neck
- Protective jacket without gaps
- Rigid breast protection under the jacket
- Rigid groin protection (for men)
- Protection for throat and neck (a separate gorget, or a similar protection built in the jacket), blade catcher is highly recommended
- Rigid elbow and forearm protection
- Rigid knee and shin protection
- Fencing gloves for both hands, suitable for the weapon
NB! Open metal elements of protection, except for the mask, are forbidden!
